Due to the fact that I teach students with drastically different age and ability levels, lessons are catered to each individual student's needs. In general, I try to structure the lesson in such a way that it can serve as a blueprint for at-home practice. We will usually start with some kind of warm-up exercise, move to technical/flexibility development, followed by repertoire and etudes. My style of lesson is like water.. No two students are alike. I must first test a beginner to see if they're tone deaf.. An advanced student is tested for any limitations or handicaps. Any good coach would study the student for any weakness, and formulate a viable plan to bridge the gap again to take them further faster.. For students at the beginning and intermediate levels on all instruments I use the Rubank Method alongside appropriate solo literature for their ability level. It is a succinct, affordable resource that will not leave a student lacking. When I teach any advanced brass player I use Arbans conservatory method, Clarke Technical Studies, and the brass gym. Advanced horn players will study Koprasch, and other etude books to fit the students unique situation. Read More

I grew up in the Cincinnati area and graduated from Fairfield High School in 2005. I began my college career at the University of Cincinnati as a Mechanical Engineering major. While at UC, I rediscovered my passion for music and felt a calling to share that passion with others in the best way I knew how: teaching.
