I love teaching because I believe most, if not all, people love music and can learn to love making music. I want it to be fun for them, to keep them interested. I believe that a set of expectations on the student is required to keep them motivated, but I am never upset or disappointed if they don't practice enough. I think keeping them involved in music is the most important part, and I know that many students will not pursue a full time career in music, but music is valuable to them in so many ways. Read More

I grew up in the Cincinnati area and graduated from Fairfield High School in 2005. I began my college career at the University of Cincinnati as a Mechanical Engineering major. While at UC, I rediscovered my passion for music and felt a calling to share that passion with others in the best way I knew how: teaching. William joined Musika in 2009. William is a retired college professor who taught woodwinds at the college level for over 25 years. He is an accomplished recitalist on both clarinet and saxophone. He earned the Master of Music degree in clarinet performance from the University of Akron and the Ph.D. in musicology from Kent State University. I focused on saxophone when I was in junior high and continued through high school. It was my first passion even when going off to college.
