Hello! My name is pronounced as if you saw the "dawn" in the morning and became so happy you said "yay!" (dawn-yay). I especially enjoy teaching music theory, composition, improvisation and transcription (playing by ear). I come from a family of musicians and started taking lessons at an early age. I would teach my lesson on top of my lesson plans. As a teacher, writing lesson plans is an important factor of keeping the lesson organized. The lesson also depends a lot on the students' learning pace and hard work. I will take time to get to know the students and to find out their different learning style(visual, aural or kinetic. )I will set a detailed goal and plan for my students and keep track of their progress and measure our weekly target accordingly. I love teaching because it teaches me more than I can ever learn from a piece of music. Seeing my student grow as a musician and as his/her own individual character/personality. I've taught students as young as 3 to college graduates who simply want to get some pieces under their fingers. I've also taught masterclasses to my mom's students and to students at UCLA, and I find that all of us connect in some way musically as we all love and cherish the same composers whose music we still play today.
