I graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College and earned an associates Degree in Jazz Music. I went on to U.W. Milwaukee and studied classical music and was part of the U.W. Milwaukee Percussion Ensemble for 4 years. After graduating from U.W. Milwaukee I became a full time musician and traveled as a full time musician working throughout the United States and internationally. I do insist that each student practice one to two hours a day based on what they are taught. This includes, but is not limited to finger exercises, drills, posture and any thing that will make playing better for them. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching privately in 2009, and have been consistently teaching students inside and on-line from my home studio for the last 7 years. Committing to consistent practice as your schedule allows is one of the key points I emphasize for all students regardless of age, as only the consistency will help you progress, after all music is a language. My approach has always evolved and adapted as I learn new concepts and techniques, however I would summarize my approach to teaching piano as focusing on rhythmic development, playing-by ear with music reading supports and adding the perspective that the piano is a percussion instrument. I graduated from Carroll University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Liberal Arts, and have performed as principal flute for an international music project between Carroll University, Marquette, UW Milwaukee, and multiple Italian conservatories all throughout Italy, Germany, and Austria.
