A skilled interpreter of Baroque literature as well, Cooper continues in his capacity as Artistic Advisor to the Baroque Masterplayers, a virtuoso ensemble that concatenates period performance techniques with modern instruments thus creating a unique voice within the realm of 17th and 18th- century repertoire. Monika W

Instruments:

I am an accomplished musician and artist with an uncanny ability to understand what children need and empathize with them. I have been learning music since age of 6. I have been taught piano, its techniques, and style, as well as music history from wonderful and talented musicians from all over Europe. I graduated from Art School in Poland. I have been performing in many European countries like Poland or Germany since I was 10.

Ruth K

Instruments:

I am an experienced teacher who loves working with students and sharing my love of music with them.  Over the past three decades I have taught in the schools, for a performing arts school, through studios, eventually owning my own studio, and locally concertized as both a soloist and an ensemble performer.  Groups and students under my direction have won numerous awards and honors and concertized in many venues.  I am blessed to have many of my former students working as professionals in the music industry now and still keep in touch with them and their families.

Caleb I

Instruments:

I am a lifelong musician who has a passion for teaching. I enjoy helping budding musicians find their voice and inspriation through their gift! I am a full time musician that shares the message of love, positivity, and marriage as I record original music and perform with my wife as RnB duo ISH. I have been fortunate enough to tour the country as a musician and I look forward to sharing that love of music with eager minds! I am a proud graduate of Wabash College with a Bachelor's Degree in music, with minors in French and Multicultural Studies. I truly believe in the benefits of an arts-infused education and how it promotes discipline, creativity, and expression.

Clifford G

I'm a well motivated instructor who enjoys working with students of any age. During and after college I found it rewarding to work with students in a classroom and private setting.Over the past 40 years my students recieved the same in depth musical education that I recieved with an added bonus due to my success and expirience as freelance musician.

More Information About Piano Lessons

We suggest students purchase a piano or keyboard for their lessons, as they will need to practice every day in order to develop their skills on the instrument. We recommend a keyboard with weighted keys, as this will feel most similar to an actual piano. An actual piano will have 88 keys, but most keyboards start from 65 keys and go up from there. Common keyboard brands found at music stores are Yamaha, Casio, and Korg. Many keyboard sets will come with a case, stand, headphones, and may even offer recording features for recording your own playing.
Piano lessons in your home offer a convenient option for learning to play an instrument. 90% of our students take their lessons in their home, and this is a practical and time-saving way to learn the technique of the instrument. Think of all the time you can save by not having to transport your student to a class every week! In-home lessons are structured in the same way as a studio lesson, and in addition, a younger student may feel more comfortable at an in-home lesson, as they are already familiar with the surroundings.
There is no specific teaching method that all Musika teachers adhere to. All students will have lessons customized to their needs and goals as lessons progress. If there is a specific teaching style you are looking for, we will keep that in mind as we make your teacher match. Many teachers will have a few method books that they use for lessons, which will include exercises and techniques for practicing. All lessons will cover aspects of learning notes, proper technique, ear training, and how to read music.
Adults take up piano lessons for a number of different reasons. Some people want to reintroduce themselves to the instrument having once played it in the past, while others are looking for a new hobby or just to learn a new skill for fun! Whatever the reason, there are major benefits to learning the piano during adulthood. Learning piano technique can help retain fine motor skills and co-ordination, it can keep the mind sharp due to the complex thought processes and has shown to be good for preserving your hearing. Learning to play the piano can also be therapeutic, and is a great stress reliever.
Piano is a great first instrument for children who have never studied music before. Our instructors specialize in teaching younger children, and will develop an individual lesson plan for your child. The youngest age that we recommend starting piano lessons is age 4. The instructor will be able to teach your child to read music, beginning music theory and musician skills, and how to develop a love for playing the instrument.
