I tend to use the Faber Piano Adventure series as the basis for starting lessons. This series is very widely known and it is really one of the best methods available for teachers to use. I like it because two people are the authors and composers, a husband a wife team, and together they create interesting and enjoyable compositions that students of all ages like to play. They provide a wide variety of types of music from classical to blues to jazz and brance out into Christmas and Disney songs, all in different levels, so students can have a consistent series to grow and to never get bored! In middle school, I began performing and teaching music during the summers at Vacation Bible School for children ages 3-10. Throughout high school, as a member of a variety of bands, I performed at a wide array of venues around New England. During this time, I ventured into song writing and musical arrangement. Because my first experience with learning guitar/guitar lessons (when I was  9 years old) was very boring (just learning from a guitar method) I work at trying to make music fun.
