Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I have been teaching way back since i was a teenager. Was sort of a natural at getting across to people. my passion for music culminated with me getting an education in it and living it out. I regularly perform which is a motivating factor for many of my students. I always ask "why do this...so the walls in your 8 X 12 are entertained?" For students of all ages including myself, I believe all students should work in 3s: Creating a Warm Up, work through a few Methods and Etudes Books, and spending a substantial time working on solo and ensemble rep. In my own practice sessions, I tailor my routine around future performances, auditions, and styles of repertoire that I would like to improve upon. I started teaching four years ago as a freshman in college. I have had a number of students over the years and have developed my own music curriculum. The reason learning an instrument is often so frustrating is because no one takes the time to teach a student the underlying logic of music. For each instrument, I have the same basic approach: discover what they like, assess what they can do, and begin with the fundamentals. If a student is more advanced, I still like to spend time on fundamentals at the beginning anyway to see if we can fill in any foundational weakness that the student may have.
