Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I am a firm believer in the idea that not all people learn best in the same way. So I immediately try to understand each student and how they most effectively learn and retain information in the lesson. From there we set realistic goals and then accomplish them through a few key ways including practical work with their instrument and development of the musical ear. I can teach multiple styles and ways depending on the student! I have several methods I use as well. I use the watching and listening method, or the reading and following music. Which ever the student is interested in! I have taught multiple children and have my repertoire of what is age appropriate and when. I first begin by learning the goals of the individual student. I generally start with introducing the student to the instrument, fretboard, nut, saddle, etc. I show the student how to hold the guitar and pick. I believe in teaching the fundamentals of the instrument. I also believe encourage the student to ask questions and make suggestions as to how they think they might learn to play the guitar. Each lesson starts with technical exercises, follwed by repertoire. Each student does theory during the lesson with twenty questions at the end. During this time, I do all review theory material. Difficult passages are marked with a "P" chart. They have to play the difficult part four times and get a "P" for each perfect playing. Every fifth time they have to repeat from the beginning to integrate the difficult part with the rest of the song. Read More

I began helping my friends work through their music when I was 19 at Missouri Western State University, and eventually cultivated a bustling studio of students through word of mouth. I now teach full time in Zoom and in person with house visits, or at my home studio.
