I graduated from James Madison University where I studied with Carol Kniebusch Noe, played four years in the JMU Flute Choir and in the JMU Wind Symphony. I specialized in woodwinds and I can also teach novice piano and brass instruments as well. In my seven years of teaching experiences, I had helped many students with their auditions and musical growth. I started teaching flute lessons to my friends in high school from my parents' basement in 2009. Since then, I've gone on to college and have maintained a studio throughout that time. As a teaching assistant, I also taught college courses at the University of Northern Iowa for music education students and undergraduate flute students. My teaching style is fun and engaging! In a typical lesson, I chat with a student for 1-2 minutes, go into warm-ups, drone work, technique, etudes, concert pieces, and sight-reading. Goals are set with all parties involved (student, parent/guardian, teacher, music director). I love to inspire my student through many various avenues while giving them additional musical opportunities where they can perform or learn new skills.
