I try to have a very positive approach to teaching. I believe that if a student is told what they are doing wrong constantly, they will feel like they aren't good enough for the instrument, or they will lose interest. I instead focus on telling them what they are doing right, and offer suggestions on what they need to improve on. Read More

For beginner children, I like to use the Suzuki Method. For adults and intermediate to advanced children, I use a combination of books from different authors e.g. Taffanel Gaubert Flute Method, Marcel Moyse books, for technique development and also many pieces from the classical repertory. I also let the students choose pieces of any style that theyre interested in playing and they can handle. I had been teaching piano since high school, after which I chose to study music at a conservatory. I have been teaching consistently since my graduation and have had varied experiences.
