I began teaching for a local studio in 1974. I taught trumpet and flute (13 students to begin). Since that time I have taught music to referrals from friends and family. In the last 25 years I have had the opportunity to learn in small group settings (from duo to 15 "voice" big band). I'm a passionate musician who is motivated to share my knowledge to help others reach their musical aspirations. I have over twenty years experience in music starting in 6th grade in beginning band; graduating from Western Michigan University in 2008 with a BA in music; playing in concert bands, jazz bands, musical pits; playing in regional bands of blues, jam bands, reggae and more. I choose the course of study based on the individual student. Beginners usually start in "Flute 101" or the Blocki Method - Book 1. Really young students start on a small, Nuvo flute, to accommodate size, then graduate to a traditional flute. I have a number of games and projects for young beginners. Venezuelan Native, I am a modern and baroque flutist with a passion for bringing classical music to nontraditional places. My mission is to make classical music accessible and relatable to those who might not otherwise experience it. I currently serve as the Vice President of the Texas Flute Society.
