For beginning students, I typically start with a Sound Before Symbol Method. That is, we learn to get to know the instrument before adding sheet music and theory. Every student's learning track is individualized- So if you want to learn pop music, I will arrange that for the flute! If classical is what you are interested in, I will bring in the Bach Partitas. I choose the course of study based on the individual student. Beginners usually start in "Flute 101" or the Blocki Method - Book 1. Really young students start on a small, Nuvo flute, to accommodate size, then graduate to a traditional flute. I have a number of games and projects for young beginners.
