Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. In college I studied the flute as well as other instruments such as piano, oboe, and percussion. On flute, I continued to perform all over the town as well as in many of the College ensembles such as the Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Chamber Winds, and Orchestra. I was also asked to perform with the Shreveport Symphony and travelled across the border to perform with the National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico. Read More

I always explore different methods that might fit the age and personality of the student but for keyboard lessons I have found success with the Alfred Piano Method. Instrumental lessons usually follow the method book that is selected by their school band director. Beyond that I have a large library of supplementary music to expand the students interest with new styles and composers.I'm very flexible with the method books and after I get to know the student I can select a method that would work the best for instruction. I am a passionate flutist and both of my parents played flute so I have played for any years . I am retired librarian and teacher and have taught in public schools. As I have taken lessons from several teachers, I have a brod musical background inclassical, jazz, and Latin music. I currently play in the Pike's Peak flute choir in Colorado Springs and would love to instruct and inspire beginning and intermediate students or play in group of advanced students. Read More

It is my job to get to know the student and find positive ways to help them develop their musical skills. I try to tailor the lesson to meet the students needs.
