For beginning students no matter their ability level, I always introduce rhythms at the first couple lessons. Rhythm is one of the most important elements in music playing. Once they can recognize rhythms and count, we will start reading music notes then combing altogether along with playing and singing. Music is then customized to incorporate their current skill levels with the challenges that bring them into the next. All instruments, including voice, learn the Major and minor scales with other scales being reserved for more advanced students. I first started teaching guitar in high school after i got a few lessons from someone i looked up to in high school. From then on i have loved to teach music to all ages!.
