I studied music in middle school and high school through wind ensemble, jazz band, marching band, show choir, and private lessons. During this time I also attended music camps at McNally Smith and Berklee College of Music. I then moved to Nashville and graduated from Belmont University's School of Music. Matthew is a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing his love for Percussion. Being a Drummer since the age of 4, Matthew has been drumming for 21 years. Beginning in 2005 Matthew began his classical training as a Symphonic Percussionist. Every Percussion Instrument was honed from Concert Snare Drum to Mallet Percussion, (Marimbas, Vibraphones, Xylophones, etc.). In 2008 Matthew started Drum Corp with the Marching Snare Drum. Matthew continued to march Snare Drum until 2013, where he now predominantly plays the Drum Set for various Metal Bands and Jazz ensembles. Read More

I want my students to be successful. I will give them to tools to need to learn to language of music. I will direct them to the materials to help them with that goal. When I was a kid I remember walking out of teacher's studio feeling like a stronger drummer than I did the previous week. I want my students to have that same feeling of accomplishment.
