Growing up in Westchester NY, I lived in a musical household. Starting Percussion/Drum Set at the age of 10, playing music soon became more to me than just a hobby. Going to college at The Crane School of Music, I graduated with a Bachelors in Music Education, a Certificate of Performance, and am currently working on my Masters in Music Education. Matthew is a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing his love for Percussion. Being a Drummer since the age of 4, Matthew has been drumming for 21 years. Beginning in 2005 Matthew began his classical training as a Symphonic Percussionist. Every Percussion Instrument was honed from Concert Snare Drum to Mallet Percussion, (Marimbas, Vibraphones, Xylophones, etc.). In 2008 Matthew started Drum Corp with the Marching Snare Drum. I have been teaching private lessons since 2016, and I have experience with all ages ranging from 11 to 45. While at Slippery Rock University, I assisted in the jazz camp held every year for high schoolers around the state. Part of my undergraduate degree was taking a pedagogy class for an entire semester which consisted of a variety of teaching methods.
