Im an experienced drummer of 23 years and have competed at a world class level. But I truly love to teach and watch students reach their full potential. I went to school at Pasadena City College and studied music and got two associates degrees from that College. Went on to teach both middle school and high school drumlines and got them competing and achieving State Championship titles. We had a ton of fun, recorded two albums in the studio, won a bunch of contests, played Hollywood and countless local gigs. Since then, I have recorded two more albums with various bands and have massive amounts of stage time as part of a live group. I always try to make my classes fun and engaging. I manage a very particular teaching method based on how I have learned from my mentors. On the first class I ask what the student's interest is and what would make him/her happy to learn, how the student imagines playing and what styles of music are the favorites ones. All student clients receive artist development training according to their level of skill, I will complete a basic assessment to find out student goals and dreams. I will give students a professional critique of their performance or skill. Together we devise a performance action plan which outlines the students creative journey and desired outcome. if students would like to perform, they will have an option to perform at their desired place.
