I am a working musician, traveling singer-songwriter, and long-time educator. While at school I focused my education on music and the music industry and building my career as a singer-songwriter. As much as I love to create and share my own music I'm also passionate about teaching others to do the same. I've taught lessons throughout college covering a range of instruments and ages. With my beginning students, I would start them off with a method book that would teach them the basic fundamentals of playing the drum set. I have many books, and I recommend certain books based on what the student wants to learn. Once they master the fundamentals, I would introduce them to solos and charts for performance practice. I have been a musician for as long as I can remember. I first started on violin in 3rd grade and moved to viola, cello, double bass, and recorder all before picking up guitar, bass, drums, and piano. My teaching experience includes teaching full bands at the junior high level as well as beginner percussion students. I have also taught private lessons in my personal studio for both beginner and intermediate levels. I love to inspire my students to practice as much as they can, but consistency and structure is the most important thing.
