I am a performer and educator with a lifelong passion for music and music education. I graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Music in Music Composition in 2016, my primary instrument of study in that time being drums. Although I am primarily a drummer and composer, my love for music goes back to when I started taking violin lessons when I was 4 years old. I have had many great musical experiences since then, including a youth orchestra performance at Carnegie Hall! Read More

My teaching style is focused on the specific needs of the student in correspondence to their current skill level. Whether it be focusing on improving technique or gaining a deeper knowledge of music theory, I make it a point to pinpoint areas of improvement and focus on them while still keeping fun central to the lessons. I love to see my students progress and achieve their goals and I take it upon myself to make sure I'm tailoring the lessons specifically to help the student do just that. Read More

Education is a central part of my life and will continue to be for my whole career. When I'm not teaching music, I teach English to kids living in China over the Internet! I have been teaching music for several years in individual, group and clinic settings. I recently graduated from the University of Iowa where I was lucky enough to study many different kinds of music. I became interested in Caribbean music and steelpan and through the University and had the great experience of competing in Panorama in Trinidad Tobago. Read More
