My work is to honor that space and demonstrate that making music is an option for anyone who wants it, regardless of any perceived “barriers” in place. By giving each student a realistic short term goal that feeds into their ultimate aspiration on the drums, they will get to see the progress they are making and are encouraged to keep practicing and improving. I've been teaching music for a little over 5 years (2014). I have started many kids who don't know if they would rather learn guitar, drums, or piano. So I give them a tour of all three and show them the basics before they decide their favorite. I encourage consistent practice and practice methods that ensure that the students always feel a sense of improvement without frustration. 2004-2007 marched world championships in WGI with Black Knights and Pulse Percussion 2006 Marched the Rose Parade as a tenor drummer. 2015 - Awarded a plaque from Los Angeles City Counsel for teaching Madison Middle School, becoming State Champs. 2016-2018 Taught Madison Middle School drumline and got them to be 4-peat State Champs.
