Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I was still taking private lessons at the time; as my skill level advanced, my teacher saw my potential as a teacher and started referring some beginning students to me. I teach all levels. I specialize in beginner pedagogy, for which I have created my own series of exercises that simultaneously teach the student basic technique on the clarinet while also teaching them counting and rhythm. I am an orchestral clarinetist, with many years of experience playing in many orchestras, but I have also played in wind bands, as well as other genres like flamenco, Latin music, and rock/pop. Techniques and proficiency are taught along side musicianship, expression and appreciation for all musical styles. My methods of teaching are based on where the students are at in there study of music. For beginners I like to teach them how to read music as they learn each note on their instruments. After that it really depends on what kind of music you want to learn, what you already know. I like to work with everyone according to their level and ability but also challenge to meet new goals.
