Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

For children I start with easy and fun fundamental books. For older students I use Alfred's All in One for Adults series. I wrote my own vocal teaching book. It consists of theory, activity and homework. For guitar, I start out with Mel Bay and then move onto my own guitar book with lessons and songs in order of difficulty. Read More

I am a dedicated musician and teacher beginning my fifth year in Portland. My background is multi-disciplinary: on top of my musical coursework I hold degrees in poetry and language. I want to help my students set goals, both large and small, and help them understand the step by step process to get there. I also emphasize understand why you are playing something. Students often get frustrated with beginner songs or simple (aka boring) exercises. I make a point to explain that we're learning how to learn. Ukulele: Ukulele is a perfect instrument for children who are eager to explore the world of music but might not be ready for a larger instrument, or for those who love the unique sound it creates. The ukulele has recently become quite popular and is featured in many styles of new music. Students will use Hal Leonard method book as well as other music supplied by the instructor.
