Over my years of teaching I have developed various "games" and "fun" lessons to keep young ones interested while learning important skills. I began giving private guitar lessons 5 years ago, in 2018. Since then I have taught both privately and at music studios. Classical guitar is my expertise, I earned both a Masters and Bachelors degree in Classical Guitar Performance at the University of Cincinnati, where I served as a Teacher's Assistant and taught multiple guitar courses. I began teaching for Pendragon's Music in 1990, and since had taught for 22 years at a couple of the local music stores. My methods of instruction are taylor made for each individual student. For example I will teach a beginner student that wants to learn the guitar as an instrument and music theory basic technique, chords, scales, and how to read music, as well as enjoyable songs that capture their personal interests. I supply all of the materials for my students. For beginners, I ask that they choose 5 songs they really want to learn to play. Through those songs, I can introduce many technical and musical concepts. It is very important that this is a positive musical experience.
