Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I play different styles and genres, but especially Pop/Rock/R&B, Alternative & Hip Hop Music. Throughout his teaching career, Jamie has also participated in many performance and recording projects both as band leader of The Rift, a guest, and a solo artist. During the school year 2016 - 2017 he was a Show Director for the School of Rock - Mamaroneck. Most recently he designed, produced, and taught residencies, culminating concerts, and family workshops for LEAP NYC as a Teaching Artist. He hopes to deepen his impact with music by exploring an education in music therapy and starting a not for profit that provides a 24/7/365 safe-space for young artists, thespians, and musicians in the future. My style of teaching varies from student to student depending on age, development, and experience with their instrument. While there are some students that can easily be inspired by the idea of playing music, there are others that require a little more patience at first. I have an interactive yet focused style of teaching. I can(but don't recommend) to use the Suzuki method. I feel that all aspects related to the instruments weigh much importance in teaching the student. However, with the Suzuki method, the student's primary focus is to learn pieces rapidly and climb the level of difficulty as fast as possible. This prevents him/her to fully understand and analyze the piece and lesson and it can also turn the student away from pursuing the instrument further. Read More

I address every students individual needs with material that is suited for them. This may include traditional instructional materials such as the Mel Bay or Hal Leonard methods or even drafting my own materials for a particular students unique needs. I like to stress the importance music theory and notation to my students though I introduce these concepts at different times for different students, depending on their willingness and readiness to learn them.
