Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I started taking lessons at 5 years old. I took private lessons at Eastman school of music in Rochester, NY. I graduated high school and then headed to California to attend the Los Angeles Music Academy for the Drum Program where I graduated and earned my Degree in Music in 2003. I started playing piano at 9 years old and took private lessons from Andy Calabrese for 3 years. I started playing guitar and bass at 16 years old, I'm mostly self-taught but have studied extensively on my own and can read tabs, etc. Read More

There's more to learning to play an instrument than scales and chords. My teaching method is more holistic covering, as needed, technique, interpretation, theory, performance, ear training, music listening, transcription, music copying, the mechanics of the instrument. We usually begin with pad and pen and move from there. When suitable, an appropriate method book or specific texts are chosen. My method also includes time playing together. I've found that at a certain point much can be taught through playing in a duo setting. Read More

I always use variety of method books depending on the capability of each student in grasping the instructions. I have a syllabus that I am following base on the Music Teacher's Association syllabus in preparation for a Certificate of Merrit examination. And for those younger students that are not ready yet in taking the Statewide Music examination, a Royal School of Music syllabus is what I am using in order for our studies to be on track. Read More

Every single one of my lessons is individualized and focused on YOU and what YOU want to learn. Of course, there are things that I encourage such as posture and proper technique, among many others, yet I will always have a focus on MUSIC and helping you get to wherever you need to learn, not by theory alone but through putting what we learn into practice. I understand that some students want to learn the instruments themselves but without the context of how they function in music, I feel I would be doing them a disservice. Read More

Technique and theory are essential, but they should serve expression not limit it. What we learn should ultimately help us communicate and create freely.
