I started teaching music about 10 years ago, and Ive always enjoyed working with students. Ive performed professionally in several bands on multiple instruments in the past 10 years, and Ive also done a good bit of studio work from composition and recording, to producing, to mastering. I've always found that my students who seem to have the most fun are the ones who progress the fastest, so my primary method is to approach lessons with material that students are interested in. I try to keep things fun and interesting by doing things such as incorporating a student's favorite music into a lesson. It's important for a student to practice regularly with discipline and focus. Once the student is up to speed on chord changing and fretboard knowledge, I will begin teaching them easy songs. With students in their mid-teens and up, I will ask them what their interests are and teach them accordingly to meet their goals.
