I like to create very clear imagery that builds over time. The voice is not something we can see or touch, so I often joke that singing is about learning Jedi mind tricks that help us achieve a healthy technique. I like to incorporate theory/musicianship and some piano into my lessons to create a well rounded understanding of singing as a musician. For beginning students I select special lessons. I am careful to choose the appropriate music for each age. if there is a child, for me is very important the relationship with the parents, because they know a lot of goals from the child. For adults the communication is the fundamental thing, each have own aspirations. The topic for teach my students will be my passion. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with breathing and vocal exercise. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals and are introduced to the Belcanto technique, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate, for their first recital performance or audition. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guild my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging, fun, productive and fruitful, no matter their ability level. As students grow in ability and age, I engage their interests more so their instruction is more fulfilling.
