Generally, I sit down with the student and we set a goal. From there I can break down this goal into little Milestones and from there, the material for each lesson springs forth. Generally, I shoot for a mix of basic musical foundation such as theory, ear training, technique, mixed with a particular song they want to learn. Read More

As Shinichi Suzuki said, musical harmony breeds social harmony; to learn and make music together helps us all. For this I have grown the string and choral programs in Elmhurst's 51st Avenue Academy; taught violin, viola, and chamber music at the Queens College Center for Preparatory Studies in Music; led the Stony Brook Pre-College chamber music program; taught strings and chorus in Kiev, Ukraine; taught graduate education courses at Touro College online; and enjoy teaching music at NJ's Calderone School. Im a recent graduate of Lebanon Valley College (2022) looking to teach Choral Vocal Technique! I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music and am currently working on my masters degree in Vocal Chamber Music at the University of Redlands! This program is headed by former member of the Kings Singers, Christopher Gabbitas. An individual approach to choral singing is something that the community severely lacks! I have 14 years of choral experience and would love to pass that on to my students! Read More

If a student isn't having fun learning the instrument then I am doing something wrong! Learning should be fun and a joy not a chore. I try to encourage the students to practice without being told to do so. With that comes a joy of doing it on your own and for themselves not for anyone else. Lessons in my studio are to compliment each students experiences and desires. Since teaching piano from my early college days until now, I find that students have many more interests than just music.
