I started music when i was 5y-6y. Classically trained on the piano for 5 to 6 years. Self taught in music at age 7y. Formally taught in music at age 11y-17y in drums/percussion/piano, guitar, bass guitar, trumpet, and voice. Started my first 2 piece band at age 8y. Playing drums/percussion/voice and keyboards. While in NYC, I had the opportunity to perform in New York Lyric Opera Theatre's Carnegie Hall Opera Gala 2015 and DiMenna Center Opera Shows 2016. During my studies at NYU Steinhardt, I was seen onstage in three operatic productions and was a First Round Finalist of the Classical Singer Vocal Competitions in 2015 2016. I have different methods for piano and voice: depending on the level of the piano student, I will use Faber method books and supplement performance pieces, technique lessons, games, theory discussions, etc. I do not use method books with voice students, although I do have a curriculum that I follow and adjust depending on the level and age of the voice student. I believe that while beginning and intermediate students continue to learn, it is important for them to practice different genres on their instrument -- this allows them to speak different musical languages, improves their understanding of style, and gives them a better context for their own gifts and interests. For piano I use the Alfred series, and for violin and viola I use a combination of Essential Elements and Suzuki books.  As students advance I introduce additional solo repertoire.  My voice students learn from a variety of sources.  I usually start with a song they know well and work from there.  Students also learn a variety of warm-ups and sight-singing techniques.   Read More
