In 4th grade I got a recorder and from then on I've soaked up all the music experiences around me. I fondly remember my first solo performance was 5th grade, and my first honor band was that summer. By my senior year of high school I had been involved in a couple dozen honor bands/choirs/orchestras including an amazing tour of Europe in a 200 person band! Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. I have taught private music lessons, since I was at Youngstown State University. I also assisted marching band camps over the summer time, at various high schools. I continue teaching private music lessons, to this day at my current job and online. I have recently taught, clarinet, piano, saxophone, violin, trumpet, trombone, as well as music recording online and in person.
