I now perform professionally with several bands including 10 String Symphony, Oh My Darling, and under my own name. If you are looking for a relaxed and fun teacher who is open to helping your child learn multiple styles and really love music, I'm your girl! Read More

For beginners, I typically start students off with the suzuki books to build technique, but I teach them from the classical perspective rather than the suzuki method. With intermediate and advanced students, i will introduce solo repertoire appropriate for recital performance and/or a commercial piece (fiddle tunes, pop songs, etc) that the student is interested in learning. Fiddle is my specialty, but I also teach classical violin and even my fiddle students will learn classical technique. Read More

My method of teaching involves researching a wide range of resources in order to find what is best for the student at the current stage in his or her development. Using my own knowledge, I am able to effectively adapt and improve these resources so as to be accessible to the student. For bass students, I might use Hal Leonard's Bass Method, book one. For young beginning guitar students, I recommend The Beginning Guitarist's Book by Tom Hess. Read More

For students who are serious about learning I believe a goal-oriented approach is the best, having a certain level or certain piece to try to reach by a specific time. Accomplishing this goal and seeing the results from working through the steps needed to learn a piece is very rewarding. This leads to new goals and the motivation to learn and accomplish even more. Once the basic foundation is in place the learning will become easier and the students' enjoyment will increase. Read More

I am a Taiwanese American violinist and I grew up in Boston. I started playing piano when I was 5 and then the violin at age 8. I enjoys teaching students of all ages and encourages early beginners! As an avid life long learner, I attend as many Suzuki teacher trainer courses as possible, and I love the Starling Delay Symposium as a resource for my own playing and for teaching students.
