Part of my lesson times include teaching how to practice. However, I will always find a way to make the most out of an opportunity with a student. I'd rather spend time helping them learn how to express themselves with freedom and skill. When learning a specific task or skill, I use modeling in my teaching style. I have always loved teaching music. I think that it is a very important aspect of being a musician. I feel the need to pass on everything that I have learned. I started studying classical music and shortly after beginning, started to branch out into other styles. Over the years, I have studied, country, Irish, and Cajun fiddling, Jazz, Rock, Improv, and kept up with my classical studies. I also work with basic fundamental structures that formulated the basis of my work with previous teachers such as Paul Kantor and Julia Kurtyka.. this includes basic practice exercises, and techniques, how to hold the instrument and how to shift etc. and how to sculpt a particular sound with the bow at various segments of a phrase i.e. bow distribution, bow speed, and the relationship between bow hold bow arm relation with the types of sounds in a particular palette). My experience teaching dates back to the beginning of my college career in 2014. A majority of my students have ranged from brand new players to an intermediate level, but I am willing and enthusiastic about teaching players of all levels! Additionally, I have taught a diverse age range; from 4 years olds to adults.
