My goal is to foster a love of music through mastery, excellence and fun! I never want lessons to feel like something that has to be done, but rather, something to look forward to. I accomplish this by incorporating the interests of each student and including time in each lesson to improvise, create, or learn music they are interested in. I love seeing students really getting into their lessons. The excitement and seeing the light bulb go off when they finally get it and are able to put all parts together. I wouldn't treat my students all the same as I know that some students learn at their own pace. At the initial lesson, we will work on goals and identifying the level that the student is at. From there, we would be able to build a lesson and find different music that interests the students. Read More

I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who enjoys helping students unravel the mysteries of music. I graduated with honors from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2014. While studying at IUP, I was principal bassoon of our ensembles and played in many chamber groups as well. In 2015, I won the Graduate Assistantship at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. I began student teaching in the late 90’s when I was in high school. I continued to teach on the weekends throughout college and graduate school at Joyful Sounds School of Music. While studying String Pedagogy at Temple University, I taught for the Community Music Scholars Program, a program in conjunction with the Philadelphia public schools allowing low income students to have private lessons at a reduced rate.
