Since moving to Texas, I have started orchestra programs at two different schools in Dallas county, while continuing to build my own studio. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. I began teaching students while still in high school. I continued teaching students in college with the University of Texas String Project. Upon graduation, I taught programs in both public and private schools, while developing a studio of private students at our home. I have taught private students for most of the past 35 years, teaching all ages from 6 yrs. and up, beginning to advanced. I began giving music lessons at 21 while I was a student at Texas State University as an education major. My drum instructor invited me to return to the studio as an instructor. I have taught students as young as age 3, as well as adults, and everyone in between! As a special educator, I have also taught students with various abilities, including those with autism.
