I began teaching students while still in high school. I continued teaching students in college with the University of Texas String Project. Upon graduation, I taught programs in both public and private schools, while developing a studio of private students at our home. I have taught private students for most of the past 35 years, teaching all ages from 6 yrs. and up, beginning to advanced. As a young musician, I received an opportunity to perform with my former orchestra teacher Ken Lattimore, who is now a member of country and western group Sons of the Pioneers. In my musical career, Mr. Jackson has performed with the Marshall Symphony, Orchestra of the Pines, the SFA Chamber Orchestra and the Mu Xi Chapter Men’s Chorus of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. At KIPP Houston Public Schools, my students have been featured performers at the Muscular Dystrophy Association Annual Muscle Walk, Downtown Houston’s House of Blues, the 2014 KIPP Gala, and with Mark Wood (co-founder of world famous Trans-Siberian Orchestra) in a combined Electrify Your Strings concert including KIPP Sharp Orchestra, KIPP Sharpstown Orchestra and Choir, and YES Prep Orchestra. My teaching experience spans 6 years. I've taught all ages, so I'm comfortable with everybodys learning pace. In college I studied under the Latin Grammy award winning La Catrina Quartet, and I hope to pass down the knowledge I gain from that experience to my students. With my students, I take them step by step through were they are as a musician, to were they need to be.
