My teaching methods are based off of the Franco-Belgian school founded by Vieutemps, Beriot, and Ysaye to name a few. i am also inspired by the methods of Ivan Galamian and his teaching style. For beginners, I will start with basic elements such as the proper way of holding the instrument; this is crucial for later violin development so it must be mastered first. My goal for lessons is not just progress. I would like to let students know how to enjoy music and the way music works. I have teaching experience in Korea and the U.S with kids age between 6 to 15. Young musicians have hard time to focus in a long period of time and practicing their own. I received my Bachelors of Music in violin performance from the University of Redlands. I will be starting school in July to receive my Masters in music education from Longy School of music. For beginning string student's, I use Essential Elements for Strings and Schroeder method books. Once the student has grasped the basic fundamentals and note reading, I begin to introduce solo repertoire from the Suzuki String method. Along with technical studies and solo repertoire, the student will learn scales ranging from one to four octaves. For beginning piano student's, I use the Bastein Piano series.
