Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. For beginning students, I like to start with a combination of the Suzuki method and Essential Elements. As the student progresses, I will introduce solo repertoire according to their level. For adults, I will start with basic musical training and then we will move on to a repertoire that the student is interested in learning. Moises also performed alongside Grammy-Award winner Craig Hella Johnson, being featured as the solo violinist in his latest work "Considering Matthew Shepard". As an orchestra player, Moises has worked with conductors such as Leonard Slatkin, Xian Zhang, David Effron, Cliff Colnot, and Carlos Miguel Prieto. He has served as the Concertmaster of the Indiana University Symphony Orchestra during the Indiana University Summer Music Festival, and also performed with the Indiana University Early Music and New Music Ensembles. I believe in teaching people to be true musicians and tap into their own creative spirits, not just to be technicians at the mercy of what's written for them. With that said, I take a balanced approached between learning traditional fundamentals and some of my own more philosophical approach, drawing on metaphors and analagous experiences to help frame this learning experience in ways the student can relate and understand.
