Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.
lessons are available in the following areas:
Instruments: Violin, Viola
Teaching Methods: I like to work in tandem with your child's school music teacher/orchestra director. I first like to have contact with your child's music teacher to find out what their expectations are for your student...and...how I can compliment and reinforce their strategies and needs for your child.
I stress fundamentals first and foremost over everything else. Learning music and an instrument is a long and tedious road to follow. Without basic fundamentals the road/journey is much longer and tougher to manuever. Students with strong fundamentals and "basics", which are consistently reinforced, tend to travel longer and further.
Teaching Styles: I want all of my students to become individual and proficient musicians. Being a strong, individual and proficient musician will allow them to be successful soloists and collaborative ensemble members. I also believe in constant praise and recognition. However, I do expect students to practice and be prepared for all lessons. I also believe in collaborating with parents to ensure their child is successful...and...collaboration with your child's school music/string/orchstra teacher.
Instruments: Violin, Viola
Teaching Methods: I am using the standart violin methods such as Wholfart, Mazas,Kayser, Kreutzer,Schradieck, Fiorillo, Sevcik,
Teaching Styles: I will give my student a sclae, and Etude and a piece from violin repertoire. My essential teaching style is based on the Galamian’s Principles of Violin Playing & Teaching. I believe that starting with fundamentals of violin techniques, left hand and right hand techniques is essential. After mastering the fundamentals, students are able to grow into their own musicalityand find a connection between the techniques and interpretation, where I would teach the importance of musical phrasing and understanding the structure of a piece of music. I also realize that the Robert Gerle’s book, The Art of Practising the Violin to be a valuable resource for my students who often are still learning good practice techniques. Gerle’s practice strategies are invaluable because they allow students to reach technical mastery effectively.
