I am a flexible and passionate instructor with training in a multitude of styles.I've played trumpet for over ten years and am graduating from the College of Saint Rose Music Program in 2020. I love to teach and spread knowledge of my instrument. I've played lead trumpet in the College of Saint Rose Jazz Ensemble for 4 consecutive years as well as performed on various albums. I try to keep an open mind when it comes to the individual and the way they want to learn, whether it's visually, aurally, or interactively. Then I construct a lesson plan that is designed specifically for that person. Some of the books we could be using would be: Hanon, Alban's Conservatory Method, Various classical composers' repetoire (Clementi, Mozart, etc.), Alfred Series, or only audio and no sheet music depending on what they desire to learn and get out of the lessons. Effective music education is both developmentally and culturally appropriate: By working with the student to understand their interests, I hope to provide them with an experience that will enrich their musical and social life outside of the work we do together. Through infancy, I believe Music Learning Theory is effective for developing musical and linguistic skills. My teaching includes all aspects of music; Musical theory, sight singing, as well as Music History. My teaching style allows the child to have fun while they learn their instrument, but I emphasize a strong practice regiment. Your child will understand that while learning music and an instrument can be fun, there will be some work involved if they want to become great.
