I then assume the role of a guide whenever possible, rather than an authoritarian figure, so that sudents can discover concepts for themselves vs. having the information given to them. Finding the starting place for any student is important, regardless of age. As a child of an adult learner who took lessons in guitar and voice, I understand the distinction between adult and younger learners. The pacing, goal setting and choice of materials and resources is important to keep interest and spark inspiration to practice and maintain growth. Before beginning teaching I was a stay at home dad for a number of years until my two kids were in school full time. For beginning students that are k-12 I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements to align with the public school music curriculum. For those 18+ or hoping to learn an instrument outside of school purposes I highly encourage students to pick out their own repertoire to learn however I'm more than happy to help with the process of choosing music. For those with a base line understanding of music we will still read from various methods books and play some standard repertoire but it will not be the focus of lessons. Read More

I have a great enjoyment and love for music since a child. Since then from 2015, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in both trumpet performance and jazz studies. I saturated myself to know a great deal and variety of genres in music. In 2016, I toured for a year playing around 10 different states and venues for audiences around the country.
