Joseph enjoys an active career as a performer and educator. He is a member of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra in Jackson, Tennessee, and is principal trumpet of the Psallos Chamber Orchestra. A native of Jackson, Moore completed his undergraduate work at Union University where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree, studying trumpet performance with Tom Grant and Dennis Smith, and music composition with Daniel Musselman. He went on to earn a Master of Music degree in trumpet performance from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where he studied with internationally-acclaimed soloist Richard Stoelzel. Read More

Every student begins with the basics, warmups, exercises, and fundamentals are the building blocks of music and must always be reviewed in order to continue progressing. For beginning students, I use the lesson books they are working on in school in order to help them as they work with their teacher. I also introduce exercises, and solos. Once a rapport is established, I introduce material that is both accessible and challenging and help the student work through the music. I teach according to each students learning ability and I also love to challenge my students to help with their daily practice time. Depending on the level of advancement , we will determine the materials that is needed for each lesson. If its a beginner they will start on the basic learnings and fundamentals of music to help them better understand the lesson.
