For beginner students, I will typically use the essential elements books so we can go over the fundamentals and get things going. From there I begin introducing scales and other exercises to help with fundamental knowledge of the trumpet. From there I will give students some studies and solo repertoire to keep progressing! I love music and I love working with students of all ages. I studied piano from the age of 4, played euphonium in school band, sang in choir, and graduated from Michigan State University with honors in 2005 with a degree in music education. My teaching has taken me from inner-city Chicago, to Bay City, to South Lyon MI. After a few months I decided I needed more strings to play with and purchased an electric guitar. My life changed that day. Every day after that for the next 4 years I practiced the guitar. By the time I graduated high school I was playing lead guitar in a cover band, and getting some attention in the local music scene.
