My teaching style is strongly centered around the idea that music is more than an activity, it is a way to communicate life skills from a teacher to a student. The ideas of practicing and performing teach students what it means to be organized, skilled, and hard working. I think that it is important for students to set their own goals, achieve them, and be praised for their success. My teaching experience began in 2006. During my college years I taught trombone to fellow students and later as a college instructor and high school band director, taught young adults. My experience as an elementary school teacher has rewarded me with skills to work with younger children. I now work with seasoned musicians as a mentor and coach. I have fun too.
