Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.
lessons are available in the following areas:
Instruments: Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba
I am a beleiver that the solid foundation is the key to musical success. This foundation is broken down into 3 sections (mental, emotional and physical). I focus on the physical, lip strengh, arm and finger positions, and the correct breathing techniques. The mental and emotinal come with time and as the student grows these items will come naturally. The most importat item is to have fun, if your not having fun your intrest will fade. Read More

For students at the beginning and intermediate levels on all instruments I use the Rubank Method alongside appropriate solo literature for their ability level. It is a succinct, affordable resource that will not leave a student lacking. When I teach any advanced brass player I use Arbans conservatory method, Clarke Technical Studies, and the brass gym. Advanced horn players will study Koprasch, and other etude books to fit the students unique situation. Read More

My lesson styles are geared towards the end goals of the students. As not all students will have the desire to become professional musicians, the ultimate goal is to build lifelong lovers of the arts...and if the student decides that music is a career, then the lessons are geared accordingly. For younger children, the ultimate goal is that their love of the music and instrument will spark their desire for practice and further learning, but that they ENJOY music as an art and experience first. In my lessons, I work hard to create a routine that best fits the students needs. This typically means that many of my students are not following a specific lesson plan or standard routine. Starting out, I stress fundamentals and warm-ups to help the students create a solid grasp of the instrument, before making the move towards solo repertoire. Of course, the older and more experience the student is will influence the difficulty of the routine, however, I always make sure that goals that I have set for a student are within reach. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet
Like most trumpet teachers, I introduce the Arban's Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet, an everything-you-need-to-know book that the student will use throughout their trumpet playing career. However, I also incorporate a variety of other method, solo, and duet books throughout lessons with an intent of maintaining variety, both of material and the methods that the material presents. Each lesson begins with reviews of fundamentals (long tones, breathing, lip slurs, etc.), sight-reading practice and instruction, and instruction on the solo piece that the student had been assigned the week before.
