I then further my teaching abilities once I graduated from college and start to teach in the classroom in 2011 in Memphis TN. I have been teaching consistently since 2011. For students who are serious about learning I believe a goal-oriented approach is the best, having a certain level or certain piece to try to reach by a specific time. Accomplishing this goal and seeing the results from working through the steps needed to learn a piece is very rewarding. This leads to new goals and the motivation to learn and accomplish even more. I have been teaching private lessons for about eight years. My experience teaching in different classrooms helps me work with a large variety of students with just as much variety of skill levels. The most important part of music is connecting with the pieces you play. I provide students with the opportunity to influence certain parts of repertoire that they learn. I started playing music more than 40 years ago. I taught the choir at my church for years, leading them in festivals and church performances.
