Different learning styles, whether it be visual, aural, verbal, or physical, are present in all classrooms. Unfortunately, teachers do not always cater to every students needs. I believe that differentiate should be a huge part of every learning environment and plan to include multiple learning styles in my teaching environment to best provide for the student. At the very beginning level I would start with fundamentals from whatever book I feel would be best for the student depending on their age and knowledge. Beforehand I definitely will need to asses their knowledge so I can do so accordingly. I however will now focus on solely fundamentals and will try to include in songs that the student would like to learn as long as it is in the bounds of reality, the lessons I provide are only part of the equation and the real work is what is put in after the lesson. In 2000, I left medical school to pursue music and have never regretted the decision!  I went on to receive my bachelor's in 2004 and master's in 2012, both in instrumental music education.  I recently relocated to South Tampa after being a full time 4th-8th band director for 10 years in Chicago.  I also taught kindergarten music and K-3rd group piano.  I have been teaching private lessons on all instruments for 13 years, with an average of 10 students per week in my studio. I have been playing the piano for twelve years. I graduated from Stetson University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and from the University of Texas in El Paso (UTEP) with a Masters of Music in Piano Performance in 2022. I have performed in Italy, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Texas, on a solo level and collaboration.
