Older children just beginning to enter the world of music will begin with the fundamentals of musicianship, sound, and breathing. From there I will progress to rhythm, pitch, and notation. When these skills are mastered I will get the students comfortable with their instruments and begin playing. Students that have a background in music with their instruments will be assessed to determine the level of teaching required. Students of all ages will work out of a technique/method book. Younger students will use Walter Beeler's Method for Cornet/Trumpet, more advanced students will play from Arban's. I emphasize a "classical" approach, especially with younger students to solidify their skills, encouraging intersted students to begin including jazz improvisation into their studies as their skills advance. I'm a mellifluous performer and passionate music educator. I completed my graduate degree in Trombone Performance at the University of Denver - Lamont School of Music in 2017 and his undergraduate degree in Music Education at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith in Spring 2015. I was privileged to receive private lessons from guest artists at UAFS: Andy Martin and John Fedchock.
