He has been a teaching artist at the Aspen Music Festival where he taught and managed a private studio of local students in the Roaring Forks Area. He also taught at local high schools in San Francisco, CA.He currently resides in Cincinnati where he teaches as much as possible! I began teaching lessons in Texas in 2012 and have been since. My first major success as a teacher came in 2015 when I had a trumpet student of mine make the Texas ATSSB All-State Jazz Band. In my lessons, I push a strong routine of consistent practice to help improve endurance and stamina. I start beginner's on scales and fundamentals, and once they grasp the basics of reading music and the instrument (hopefully in after a couple of lessons) I have them start on The First Book of Practical Studies so that they can begin to learn to play very simple melodies and to reinforce their ability to read music. Once they are ready I begin to introduce them to more melodical and technical etudes as well as solo repertoire that is appropriate for their ability. Read More
