Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I traveled to California for college, where I received a Bachelor of Music Composition degree from Biola University. While in college, I continued engraving, was hired to compose music for musical plays, taught piano privately, and directed the music at my church. There is nothing more inspiring and rewarding than watching a student grow. For that reason, I meet students where they are. After an initial assessment of knowledge and skill, I began tailoring lessons for each student individually depending on their skill level. Typical lessons would include a relevant theory mini lesson, teacher playing demonstration, and teacher guided practice. I come up with a customized lesson plan for each of my students that will stay on the best possible path to success. Based on skill level, all lessons are geared toward progressing to a goal that the student sets while setting individual milestones. I choose a method book that is most appropriate for the student. I began my professional career in 1992 when I successfully auditioned for the U.S. Marine Band program. I served for four years before I began my teaching experience. Since 1996, I have taught students in private settings in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Lubbock. I also spent some time teaching in the small public school system in West Texas. I usually ask several questions first, about your goals in participating with music. I want to encourage friendly competition, to have fun and to decide how competitive you may choose to be later. Most people don't want to be super competitive, but many are talented to do so. Most people are in music for the overall enjoyment of it, and some realize friendly competition is a win-win.
