I played bass guitar in high school and university jazz bands, the latter of which performed very well at the UNC Greeley Jazz Festivals in the early 2000s. I was required to learn to play and teach brass instruments, and am proficient at those, as well. When giving constructive feedback towards student, it must be done tactfully and with ways in which to improve. Kindness is key in developing a relationship that not only builds trust but also provides yields positive results. I am a graduate of Texas Tech University. I began teaching privately in 1985 on the Lubbock ISD Music Tutorial Program. I went into the schools and taught students privately during class hours. I taught Tuba and Baritone Horn. In 1989 I began teaching with Lubbock Parks and Recreation in the community centers. This was more generalized. I taught Band Instruments, Voice, Guitar, Music Theory, Beginner Piano, Beginner Strings. I have over 10 years of experience as a private instructor as I began teaching private lesson to middle schoolers as a senior in high school. I continued teaching younger musicians as I worked to earn my B.A. Music and M.Ed.. I am currently a high school band director and music teacher.
