I started instructing and leading my peers at high school in 2008, then at college in 2011 as section leader in the Grambling State University Tiger Marching Band. Before graduating I did my student teaching in Grambling, La at the laboratory school. This school had students from K - 12 and I had the opportunity to work with all grades. I love teaching students privately one on one. My youngest student was 4; a Piano student. She was from a Russian family and didn’t speak a word of English. Teaching her was a joint effort between myself and the girl’s mother who did speak English; a very interesting experience. My oldest student was 86; a Guitar student. He had studied previously with another instructor and loved to play. In addition with my education field and experiences, I have also held a volunteer position between two local churches as a singer for the church choir through a Minister of Music program.   I have previously been employed at the John H. Wood Charter District as an Instructor Assistant with a Music Focus in San Antonio, TX at the Anne Frank Inspire Academy.
