Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I've found the best way to teach is to cater to each student's interest. While early or beginning players may require some fundamental grunt work, there is always a way to assure that it's fun too. Earlier students would need to start learning the basics: rhythm, learning to read, developing technique through scales etc. of which there are many methods. As students mature, I feel the Suzuki method for aspiring classical students is the best route (there are multiple books in this series) along with some other extensive and more challenging works. Once the students not only progress, but also tailor the path that want to follow, I will adjust every single aspect to help you get to your goals in a smart way. My teaching experience dates back to 2002 when I became Graduate Assistant to Demondrea Thurman, at Alabama State University.While working on my MM at The University of Alabama, whereI studied with J. I start every single one of my lessons the same way, by talking to my student. I ask them questions to gauge where they are at musically both with their performance and theoretical skills. I also generally spend the first few lessons trying out different teaching techniques to see which ones will be the most effective for that specific student.
